269. Why Mid East War is Your Fault

This issue looks at the latest Palestinian strategy for statehood, a reward for kidnapping Israeli soldiers, Pastors reading from the Qur’an, more setbacks for the Ground Zero Mosque, another ridiculous “offense” against Muslim sensibilities, and why the coming war in the Middle East is your fault.

The Israel Project reports: The Palestinian Authority, emboldened by its successful push this week to join the United Nation’s cultural and scientific agency, is now seeking to join 16 other U.N. bodies as part of the Palestinian quest to unilaterally gain statehood by bypassing peace negotiations with Israel. Following their acceptance into UNESCO, the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization Monday (Oct. 31), the Palestinians are applying for membership to U.N. agencies ranging from the World Health Organization and the International Criminal Court to the International Atomic Energy Agency.

Jerusalem Prayer Team reports: Following the massive prisoner swap that brought about the release of Israeli soldier Gilad Shalit after more than five years in captivity, radical clerics have called for the kidnapping of more soldiers-and a Saudi prince has offered a bankroll of $1,000,000 to reward the capture of another Jewish soldier! Meanwhile rockets and missiles rain down on Jewish cities and villages, especially those near the Gaza border. The Hamas terrorists are increasing their attacks even as the world demands that Israel negotiate with the same terrorists who are trying to kill Jews every day.

Godfather Politics reports: How would you feel if your pastor stood in the pulpit this past Sunday opened what you believed to be his Bible and then started to read passages completely unfamiliar to you.  Then in the midst of the reading you hear him say Allah instead of God and you realize he is reading not from his Bible, but from the Quran. How would you feel and what would you do? If this didn’t happen to you yesterday, count yourself fortunate because it did happen to a number people sitting in Christian churches across America.Social activists involved with Faith Shared, a program of Interfaith Alliance and Human Rights First were trying to promote tolerance and respect of Islam and counter opposition to the Muslim faith.  So starting with the National Cathedral in Washington DC, at least fifty other churches in twenty-six states joined in the effort to host readings from the Quran. Christian Action Network reports: Ryan Mauro, CAN’s national security analyst, has written an article for FrontPage Magazine about the latest woes faced by the Park51 group behind the Ground Zero Mosque. Here’s an excerpt:

“Park51’s Ground Zero Mosque project has been struck with three more blows over the past two weeks. First, it is being threatened with eviction from part of its property. Then, developer Sharif el-Gamal was caught giving faulty receipts to reporters. And just now, it’s been exposed that al-Gamal is in violation of a court order and owes New York City tens of thousands of dollars. Victory can’t be declared yet, but this has been a very bad couple of months for Park51.”

Act for America reports: Crosses in every room at Washingon D.C.’s Catholic University of America are a human rights violation that prevent Muslim students from praying. That’s the complaint to the Washington, D.C. Office of Human Rights filed by a professor from rival George Washington University across town. GWU Law School Professor John Banzhaf takes the Catholic institution to task for acting “probably with malice” against Muslim students in a 60-page complaint that cites “offensive” Catholic imagery all over the Catholic school, which he says hinder Muslims from praying. Baffled Catholic University officials say they have never received a complaint from any of the schools Muslim students.

Jerusalem Prayer Team reports: In a blistering document from the Just Peacemaking Initiative of Fuller Theological Seminary, two professors make the outrageous claim in an “Open Letter to Christian Zionists” that the instability and coming outbreak of violence and war in the Middle East is the fault of those of us who support Israel! They wrote:

The prevailing version of American Christian Zionism-that is, your belief system-underwrites theft of Palestinian land and oppression of Palestinian people, helps create the conditions for an explosion of violence, and pushes US policy in a destructive direction that violates our nation’s commitment to universal human rights. In all of these, American Christian Zionism as it currently stands is sinful and produces sin.

Ineptocracy (in-ep-tocâ-ra-cy) – a system of government where the least capable to lead are elected by the least capable of producing, and where the members of society least likely to sustain themselves or succeed, are rewarded with goods and services paid for by the confiscated wealth of a diminishing number of producers.
